<title>IFU University postponed to 2021</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p><span>The organising committee of the IFU Summer School have recently reviewed the ongoing problems concerning COVID-19 and have concluded that in the interests of safety for the participants and being able to run a well organised course we have no option but to postpone the course until June 2021. The exact date is currently being investigated to ensure University and Pilot Plant availability, but we feel confident that we will be able to confirm this soon.</span></p>
<p>We are very sorry to have to make this change, but we believe it is the best course of action to take and we very much look forward to being together in Parma next year. All tickets purchased will be valid for the new date and we are working with the hotel to transfer bookings as well. Thank you for your understanding and I will be in touch with you again soon.</p>

                        <p><span>Please note that with the COVID-19 situation we have to postpone the Technical Workshop until 2021 when it will be held on the 22<sup>nd</sup> March, returning to Cologne, just before Anuga Tec. All tickets purchased for 2020 will be valid for 2021.</span></p>
                        <p><span>We are very disappointed that we could not provide a satisfactory physical event this year, however we have been preparing for this possible outcome by developing an IFU webinar capability, so whilst we may not be able to meet in person we can deliver the planned workshop content, as much as possible, by holding a series of on line Webinars. We plan to hold 4 sessions (one per month) on processing, sustainability, quality and authenticity from July through until November. All ticket holders will have free access to these webinars, which will be an online paid event for others. We hope that any disappointment you may have is made up for by this bonus opportunity, you will have free access to the Webinars and a ticket for the 2021 workshop.</span></p>
                        <p><span>Once again thank you for your continued support, and we will be in touch with more information on the Webinar timetable, topics and speakers.</span></p>
                        <p><span>There will be no IFU commission meetings physically taking place in Vienna in July. We will make alternative arrangements to organise remote meetings. </span></p>

<title>IFU Technical workshop and commission meetings postponed</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p><span>It is with great regret that, after careful consideration, we have decided to postpone the IFU Technical workshop and technical tour taking place on the 18<sup>th</sup> and 19<sup>th</sup> of March, in recognition to the growing health risks worldwide related to the COVID-19 virus.</span></p>
<p><span>The scheduled physical commission meetings on the 17<sup>th</sup> March have also been postponed. This will be reviewed with commission heads in the next few days and it is possible that they may go ahead next week via remote connection. This will be confirmed soon.</span></p>
<p><span>Although the Austrian government has not yet called for any cancellation and there is no travel ban in place, we feel that it would be irresponsible towards our community and public health to proceed at this moment in time.</span></p>
<p><span>In addition, with travel restrictions elsewhere affecting attendance for both delegates and speakers, we feel that we could not guarantee the high scientific quality of our workshop on the original dates that we are striving for.</span></p>
<p><span>It goes without saying that this decision was not made lightly, but when we cannot fully guarantee the wellbeing of our attendees, partners, and colleagues, we feel it’s the right decision to make.</span></p>
<p><span>We would like to express our sincere appreciation for all those involved in our workshop. We hope that we can count on your commitment and flexibility in this challenging time and we are confident that with your support will make this years workshop possible.</span></p>
