Dr David Hammond

Chair Legislation Commission

David has been involved with the IFU since 1990. As past Chair of the Analytical Commission he participated in the final codex task force meeting set up for the development of the fruit juice standard and progressed the adoption of IFU methods through the codex methods of analysis commission. On behalf of the legislation commission David has attended many codex meetings, providing useful scientific contributions. He has led the development of a number of IFU methods and recommendations and his contribution to the work of IFU was recognised in 2019 with the IFU Commission Excellence Award. David is a well known expert in the field of fruit juices, presenting papers at a number of Intenational meetings in the US, Europe, Gulf, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan.

Mission

Represent the world-wide Juice Sector interests as an NGO at international government organisations. Act as a “regulatory” information centre. Support harmonisation of international regulatory standards and practices across the Juice Sector.

Vision

Serve as the truly global subject matter expert group at the best interest of all IFU members by monitoring the international regulatory landscape, mitigating the issues, representing the Juice Sector interests at international government organisations, supporting harmonisation of regulatory standards and providing the advisory role on the regulatory subjects to the broad membership.
